The work has not stopped in the Marvel studios and now the best of everything will begin. After the success of the series "Wandavision", "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier", and the most recent with "Loki", the focus of attention will fall on one of the characters that began to take more popularity among the Avengers. Natasha Romanoff, better known as Black Widow, will re-enlist to live a solo adventure that should have hit theaters long before.

The film, by director Cate Shortland, shows us the character played by Scarlett Johansson in the post-civil war events that we saw in the third Captain America movie. And it is that although the story does not continue, the line of events of Phase 4 of the MCU. Here we meet new characters that we will surely see later, such as Yelena Belova, who would be putting on the Black Widow costume for future films.

In this plot, we will know a little more about the past of our protagonist when she was part of the old Russian spy training programs of the KGB. The film will be full of action, fights, and the typical scenes with a touch of comedy characteristic of Marvel, which this time will be in charge of Red Guardian, the Russian super soldier's counterpart to Captain America and who is a father figure to Natasha. and Yelena.

Likewise, we will also witness a new Marvel villain who will surely do his thing: Taskmaster. This character has the knack of mimicking the abilities of anyone she comes into contact with, but her origins and intentions against Black Widow will be the mystery that Natasha herself will have to uncover at any cost. This is how her past as a spy and the broken relationships that she left behind will put her in danger again, if we add to that that she is hidden from the law for violating the Sokovia agreements.

A movie that almost didn't come true

Certainly, this production will be a way to celebrate and honor all the sacrifice and dedication that Black Widow made in "Endgame". Knowing how they started before joining the Avengers, in addition to seeing the return of figures like Tony Stark on screen, are the perfect dressing to see this movie. However, there is a dark background with a person linked to Marvel who was very possibly the culprit that the project was not carried out previously.

After her first appearance in "Iron Man 2" (2010) and the growing popularity she had in the "Avengers" (2012), many wanted to see a film with the unique role of Scarlett Johansson. Despite the potential that the character had, at Marvel Studios there was never a clear panorama to carry out the production of such magnitude, so silence always reigned. However, things began to take shape in 2015, following the departure of Isaac Perlmutter, president of Marvel Entertainment, from the creative committee of Marvel Studios.

Although the businessman is credited with the fact that he led Marvel to be one of the great forces of global entertainment, he is also known for her contempt for heroines. Perlmutter was convinced that there was no audience interested in seeing these types of films, besides that it was he who gave the green light to the company's productions. But, thankfully, things turned around when Kevin Feige managed to take over the reins of the MCU and in 2018 turned "Black Widow" into a real project.

Goodbye after a decade

Farewells are always difficult and even more so when we become fond of a character who knew how to conquer the hearts of millions of fans. With "Black Widow" a beautiful stage will be closing in the great artistic career of Scarlett Johansson, who made Natasha Romanoff an icon of the Marvel Universe. The actress herself was clear and confirmed in an interview for Good Morning America that this is the endpoint.

– Scarlett Johansson

And it is that despite the fact that everything indicates that her path has reached this point, we are used to the fact that in Marvel nothing is forever, even death. We saw an example of this recently in Wandavision with the return of Vision, but it would only be ephemeral moments. It's definitely bittersweet because I love my Marvel family. I will never be prepared not to be a part of it. They will always be my family, "said the actress.
