Leer en español: Fase 4 de Marvel: ¿Qué esperar de los nuevos personajes del UCM?

It has been 14 years since Marvel Studios began its cinematographic universe and the positive sensations that its films are leaving are increasing. After the events that arose in "Endgame", the UCM has not only lost several of its main protagonists, but has also begun to expand due to the multiverse. In addition, the so-called Phase 4, which just started in 2021, is introducing us to new characters, some of them quite young. What to expect from them in the future?

Counting so far, the last battle against Thanos meant the goodbye of three superheroes: Captain America/Steve Rogers, Iron-Man and Black Widow. Although they were difficult decisions to be made by the producers and writers, this undoubtedly opens the doors for us to later see a new generation of Avengers, who will surely also earn the love and admiration of the fans. In fact, it is worth mentioning that by now several of the new MCU characters have received favorable reviews.

Marvel's Phase 4 already has 5 films after the premiere of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", and two other films are scheduled for July and November 2022: "Thor: Love and Thunder" and "Black Panther": Wakanda Forever", respectively. Likewise, the television series have played a decisive role in connecting with this phase, since we have followed the present of figures such as Wanda, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Loki and Hawkeye. But these productions will also serve as a bridge to introduce new characters like Moon Knight and later with Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk.

The future of marvel

The relief generation little by little begins to be part of the UCM. Steve Rogers' witness was taken by Sam Wilson, who has now become the new Captain America and who will surely have the Winter Soldier as his partner, as seen in the series. In turn, another superhero that we will no longer see in this universe will be T'Challa, so his younger sister Shuri could be the one who inherits the Black Panther suit. The future of Marvel looks promising and here we tell you what it could hold for its new characters.

Yelena Belova

Before sacrificing herself to obtain the Soul Stone, Natasha Romanoff had one last adventure where she was reunited with her sister Yelena Belova. In the film "Black Widow" not only do they talk about Natasha's origins, but they also introduce the new Black Widow, who is later assigned the mission of hunting down Hawkeye for being the alleged culprit in Natasha's death. However, that does not happen and we see a Yelena of great qualities embarking on her path alone, perhaps waiting to be recruited to be an Avenger or to help them in the future.

Shang Chi

Martial arts and Asian culture could not be left out of Phase 4. Shang-Chi, who was trained since childhood to be a deadly warrior, decided to run away from his destiny and live a normal life, although he did not succeed. In "The Legend of the Ten Rings" we see how he becomes that superhero he was destined to be, maintaining the humility that characterizes him. In the end he is recruited by Wong, who will surely train him at Kamar-Taj or some other sorcerer monk temple.

Dane Whitman

The Eternals not only surprised us because of their charisma, but also because of their true origins, which resulted in the dissolution of the group again. While Thena, Makkari and Druig go to another part of the galaxy; Kingo, Phastos and Sersi are "captured" by their creator Arishem. But it is the character of Dane Whitman that causes the most expectations, since he is the heir to Black Knight, a being with mystical abilities and who in the comics helped the Avengers defeat Kang the Conqueror, the next villain of Ant-Man in "Quantummania"

Kate Bishop

She is the biggest fan of Hawkeye, to the point that she is very good with a bow and arrow since she was a child. In the series they show us how Clint Barton takes her as his protégé and trains her to become his successor, since he only wants to spend the rest of his days with his family. In the middle of their adventures they run into Yelena Belova, something that leads us to think that both she and Kate could be the next members of the new generation of Avengers due to their experience in the field.

Moon Knight

Marc Spector, Steven Grant or Jake Lockley? Oddly enough, it is no longer difficult to know who is the avatar of the Egyptian god Khonshu according to the predominant personality. "Moon Knight" became one of the most beloved and acclaimed series on Disney+ because of the way they developed this character. Although the end leaves us intrigued, Marvel could continue to give him new solo fights before fully introducing him with the rest of the superheroes. It is worth mentioning that in the comics he has repeatedly helped Spider-Man.

America Chavez

The whole problem between Doctor Strange and Wanda in "The Multiverse of Madness" has one person responsible: America Chavez. This character has the peculiarity of creating portals and thus traveling between universes, an ability that Scarlet Witch intended to take away from him. The truth of the case, the character played by the Mexican Xochitl Gómez is destined for great things and for a reason she was under the tutelage of the supreme sorcerers in Kamar-Taj, fine-tuning her powers to be part of the Avengers in the future just as in the comics.
