Leer en español: El bebé de Elon Musk y otras noticias de esta semana
As usual on Fridays, today we bring you a summary of the five most relevant news of the world of entertainment. This time we present an important birth, the rumors of a collaboration for a blockbuster, nostalgia for the biggest event in fashion, a sad death and a film announcement.
The son of Elon Musk and Grimes was born
Musician and producer Grimes gave birth on Monday to her first child with tycoon and businessman Elon Musk. The eclectic couple has decided to call their son X Æ A – 12. In her Twitter account the singer has already explained that her son's name is made up of three parts: X for the mathematical variant denoting an unknown, Æ is the elven variant of AI (which means artificial intelligence) and A-12 is her favorite airplane model and also the initial of "Archangel", her favorite song. This is the 32-year-old singer's first child and the sixth of the Tesla CEO. Definitely a baby born in the 21st century.
Elon Musk, Tom Cruise and NASA, together in a movie?
And speaking of Elon Musk, he's given a lot to talk about this week. At the time he announced the birth of his son through his Twitter account, the information was leaked, published by the American media Deadline, that he would collaborate through one of his companies, SpaceX, with NASA and actor Tom Cruise to make an action-adventure movie. This production, says Deadline, would not be part of the Mission Impossible franchise and would rather be a feature film by those already mentioned. It seems that the film still has no producer, but it has the backing of SpaceX, which during the pandemic has managed to send 60 new satellites into Earth's orbit as part of its StarLink project, which seeks to create an internet network of their own. Without a doubt, an unprecedented collaboration.
Met gala postponed and nostalgic celebrities
This Monday, May 4, the Met gala would have been held, as every first Monday in May. This is the most important fashion event in the world where celebrities and designers come together to make the most complicated and beautiful textile creations around a theme. This year, for the first time in the history of the event, it was canceled due to the global health crisis. Thus, the celebrities, who felt nostalgic, shared on social networks their looks from other years or said what they would have used in this year's gala, whose theme was "About time: about fashion and duration", which was based on the novel by Virginia Woolf, Orlando. This year, too, was the 150th anniversary of the traditional New York City museum. To compensate for this loss somewhat, channel E! Entertainment Television has launched a special about this gala so that we can, at least, enjoy the behind the scenes of other years.
Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk dies
At 73, (until this week, after celebrating funeral rituals in private, his family announced the news) Florian Schneider, founder of the German band Kraftwerk, a victim of cancer, has passed away. He will be remembered for his infinite influence on electronic music since the 1970s and for his indirect influence on other genres such as pop and hip hop to the present day.

"2084": a mix of The Matrix and 1984
Paramount Studios have already announced the production of 2084, an updated version of the Geroge Orwell classic, 1984, with tributes and similarities to other future cinematic dystopias such as The Matrix and Inception. The story is written by Mattson Tomlin and will be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of Transformers who bought the rights to the Harry Potter books to adapt them to the big screen. This story, which undoubtedly has good eyes on it, will be set in a dystopian society under a post-apocalyptic totalitarian government in which a loving reunion will alter the order of things.
