About 20 years have passed since the Matrix came to an end in 2003. The trilogy developed by the Wachowski sisters marked a before and after in the film industry due to its well-crafted plot based on a dystopian reality in which machines have subdued humans, in a film with high doses of action combined with never-before-seen special effects that captivated viewers around the world.
Fans, who still nostalgically remember the well-loved film series, welcomed the news of a new release of The Matrix titled "Resurrections" that is expected to hit theaters next December.
Without a doubt, the Matrix revolutionized the way of making films and seeing the future in an increasingly globalized and technological world. The film gave the industry an innovative air that has evolved over time, among which are:
Technological advances in cinema
Bullet Time
This visual technique that consists of the extreme slowdown of the action that allows you to see very fast events. This effect was brought to its maximum expression in the Matrix, recalling the hail of bullets and Neo dodging them, setting a precedent in the film industry.
Blocking
It is defined as the movement of the actors and the camera within a plane, this can even include elements such as the inclination of the take. Although this technique is not new, the Wachowskis introduced the concept in the Matrix films to create an identity and make them look special, as it happens in the scenes in which the protagonists use kung fu tactics to neutralize their enemies.
There are many technologies used in the seventh art after the premiere of the last Matrix movie. One of them are virtual stages through frontal projection to create unreal spaces beyond the Chroma Key technique, known as green screen. This type of element allows actors to get involved in this world and therefore create a better performance using organic lighting with LED screens.
Another important technological advance is virtual cameras, which are responsible for capturing the action from any angle. This meant that the filmmaker did not have to decide the position of the camera before starting the recording, being free from ties of cables, lights, microphones or from carrying the camera itself.

Technological advances of the world
The Matrix emerges in a period of temporary renewal with the arrival of a new century in which modern technologies such as computers were developed. For this reason, the film saga is based on a dystopia with futuristic ideas, including artificial intelligence, which has evolved considerably. AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the ability of artificial gadgets to perform tasks typical of a human intelligence. At present, this type of intelligence can be seen in smartphones, customer service chatbots, voice assistants, among others.
Another technological advance after the film saga, which is also closely related to it, is virtual reality, computer-generated simulation or replacement of people's environment. For example, when wearing virtual reality googles, the perception of the world around is blocked and is replaced by a digital world that has been designed to deceive all the senses, similar to the virtual reality called the Matrix in which humans are suspended in the film .
