Asunción, the Paraguayan capital offers its visitors a first-level cultural, touristic and gastronomic offer

Asunción is known as the 'Mother of cities' because of its colonial past. 1. Historical sites
Three places stand out especially, considered within the list of the Argentinian website Volemos:
- The Palacio de López is an emblematic building located opposite the bay of Asunción, seat of the executive power, built in the mid-nineteenth century. It stands out for its characteristic neoclassical U-shaped architecture and it is recommended to visit it at night, as there is a lighting design that makes it shine on the horizon.
- The Pantheon of Heroes is the mausoleum where the main heroes Paraguay's history rest. It was built taking as model Les Invalides, the place in France where the remains of Napoleon are found.

The Paraguayan gastronomy offers ingredients typical of the region and techniques obtained by its indigenous, colonial and independent past.
