When using the Internet you have to be cautious, although you should not fall into paranoia. The truth is that the network abounds with people with bad intentions. Identity or confidential data theft is already a daily occurrence.
How to improve and strengthen privacy online?
There are many things that can be done to be safe while online. For example, world-renowned companies dedicated to protecting computers from cyberattacks give very easy-to-apply advice.
Don't share confidential information
This seems obvious, but today, many people fall into this error. People get excited filling in the data to join social networks without knowing where this information will go. The date of birth, identification number, tax address and similar data should not be shared on Internet sites that are not official pages that guarantee data privacy.
Be careful with the applications you install
Many of these applications ask you to access your email data and personal information. Although most of the time it is just to feed an algorithm and offer you advertising, you should watch if that application has a good reputation and how many downloads it has.
Take care of passwords
Never reveal sensitive passwords in emails or reply to emails from banks. Normally, a bank will never ask for a password via email. They should only be entered on the official website of the bank or digital wallet.
Use real-time protection
A good antivirus program does not hurt. There are many sites on the Internet that are malicious and can leave spyware on your computer. This can compromise your privacy and what is worse, decipher the way to enter your bank accounts.

Keep an eye on the little ones
Children spend a lot of time on the Internet and may inadvertently reveal confidential information. Use parental control if it is available in your version of operating system and prevent them from having access to important keys.
Avoid dubious pages
Hackers know where most people hang out mainly young people. Avoid clicking on pop-up ads that promise an American visa, or that announce alarming news and are not a recognized official source. Immoral content pages are a trap that thousands of people fall into every day. The viruses that are housed there are dangerous for your privacy and in some cases the most unsuspecting ones reveal credit card information on these sites.
Be careful with your photos
Never enter social groups with strangers with the camera on, someone can capture a photo of your face. Also, do not upload personal photos to any social network, even if that is fashionable. Remember that everyone will bear the consequences of their actions and even if it is something very popular, uploading photos of your own or of family members to the network can get into the wrong hands. Many people have uploaded photos next to their properties and this has caused security problems for them.
There are many other tips to maintain your privacy online, but these are the basics and never forget that what is uploaded to the Internet probably cannot be deleted.
