Latin American Post spoke exclusively with Anderson Paredes who, with only 22 years, will be in charge of leading the leadership of the Ecuadorian professional team
Cycling in Venezuela, as well as in the general the country itself, is not going through its best moment, however, within such misery there always arise apices of joy. Such is the case of Anderson Paredes, a Venezuelan who will make his way on the continental Movistar Team of Ecuador, a team that recently opened the doors to his talent and hopes to have him for the entire 2018 season.
For the native of Táchira state, on the Colombian-Venezuelan border, this will be the first expedition within a continental team, an opportunity that achieves good performances achieved nationally and internationally, highlighting several top 10 stage in Vuelta a Colombia and Classic RCN 2017, as well as the shirt of the young people of the Vuelta a Venezuela 2017 and the silver medal in the road test of the Bolivarian Games played in Santa Marta, Colombia, in November of last year.
According to the same Paredes, in an exclusive interview offered for "Latinamericanpost", the arrival to his new club generates a very important personal satisfaction, mainly because he will be one of the leaders with the Ecuadorian Byron Guama and will have the responsibility of being in the fight of all the jousts in which they compete.
"I feel very happy to get to this great team like Movistar Ecuador, to which I come from the technician Santiago Arrocero, who saw me in Colombia and the Bolivarians and brought me here to test my conditions, so I hope be up to the commitment ".
Clear objectives
The criollo climber commented that the objectives for him within the team will be very clear, and will happen to be competitive within the Colombian calendar and some of the races they do in Europe, as well as trying to win the Vuelta a Venezuela.
"The teacher Arrocero told me that he wants me together with Guama in the best locations of the Vuelta a Colombia and Clásico RCN. He also asked me to win the Vuelta a Venezuela and he also needs me in the general front of the Vuelta a Portugal, which we will do during the last semester of the year and where I really want to be a star "
Change from heaven to earth
On the other hand, Paredes said that reaching such an important team like Movistar changes his life to any, especially coming from Venezuela, where the teams and the racing organizations themselves suffer from so many difficulties.
"Without wanting to complain about my past and on the contrary grateful for allowing to arise, in my country there are not the necessary tools of work. Things are very outdated in every way and that makes us be at a disadvantage to other brokers in Latin America and the world. For that reason, since I arrived here I saw the great change, where the athlete is treated like a true professional, and that is something that generates a lot of joy ".
Finally, the cyclist confessed that his great dream is to make the final leap to Europe, to reach the spaces that got the mythical Leonardo Sierra, Jose Rujano, Jackson Rodriguez and more recently Yonathan Monsalve, which is why he will work very hard to achieve it.
"I want the name of Anderson Paredes to sound in Europe and I know that it is something that only with hard work, dedication and God's support will I achieve. Dreaming costs nothing and I will continue dreaming as I have done so far. "
