After a day full of sobriety and mystery, the British Royal Crown confirmed what many feared, but expected: the death of Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, better known as Elizabeth II. At 96 years old, the monarch commanded the European power for 70 years, being one of the longest reigns in history and the longest in England.

Queen Elizabeth was not only the queen of England and the United Kingdom, but also of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.

The queen was born on April 21, 1926 in London, United Kingdom, and came to the crown on February 6, 1952 when her father George VI died of lung cancer.

With the death of Her Majesty, the new monarch Charles, the Prince of Wales, becomes King of the United Kingdom and the entire Commonwealth. In the successor chain are the eldest son of Charles and Princess Diana, William (now Prince of Wales), and his son George.

For her part, Camilla Parker, current wife of Charles and Duchess of Cornwall, will not be proclaimed Queen of England. Since the marriage, the Royal House has announced that Parker will assume the title of Princess Consort. However, the new king will be able to change the royal title of his partner at any time.

Now, the United Kingdom will enter a process of mourning and will have to change all the documents or elements that today have the name and figure of the queen: such as money (also from other Commonwealth countries), passports and even the anthem, which will go from being "God save the queen", to "God save the king".
