The 79th edition of the Golden Globes took place recently. Now, although the Golden Globes are important, it is clear that they are an “appetizer” to the Oscars.

Another of the great candidates to take this award. Lady Gaga was one of the protagonists of House of Gucci, the film directed by Ridley Scott that retold the murder of Maurizio Gucci in 1995, the grandson heir of Guccio Gucci, creator of the luxurious Italian mafia.

Well, Lady Gaga brilliantly represents Patrizia Reggiani’s hunger for power. She is in charge of showing that fame and money can change people, to the point of causing the murder of her beloved husband.

Best Animated Feature

Encanto took home the award for Best Animated Feature at the recent Golden Globes. In charge of Walt Disney Pictures, it is a production that is inspired by Colombia and has a Hispanic cast for the most part. It shines thanks to its script and art direction, which beautifully narrates Latino life.

Best Foreign Film

Drive My Car won the foreign film category at the Golden Globes. Of Japanese origin, this film was directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi. This almost 3-hour drama tells the story of an actor who sees how his life changes from one day to the next, due to betrayals and traumas. If you like drama, you should definitely see this.

Best Director

Although Steven Spielberg could get some recognition for West Side Story, the favorite for this occasion may be Ridley Scott, author of House of Gucci. Mainly, because he has been able to tell a fairly complex drama very well. In addition, there is an excellent historical recreation, since the film shows American and Italian society between 1978 and 1995.

Best Screenplay

For best screenplay, there’s a clear favorite: Adam McKay, in charge of Don’t Look Up . The story, which can be seen on Netflix, stands out for offering to be a satire on humanity in the face of a possible end of the world. It will surely win this 2022 Oscar.

Best Film

Finally, House of Gucci is the top candidate to win the 2022 Oscar for best film. This film perfectly shows a historical drama, with an exquisite script, direction and performances.
