The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA ) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) have released a report entitled "Renewable Energy and Work", which reviews this industry in 2022. This report indicates that, due to the need from making an energy transition due to climate change, responding to changes in supply chains and recovering from the pandemic, countries have increased their interest in the implementation of sustainable energies and in creating jobs around this industry.

Francesco La Camera, General Director of the International Renewable Energy Agency, speaking to the United Nations, pointed out that it is essential that governments adopt industrial policies that expand jobs in the renewable energy sector. "Stimulating the national value chain will not only create business opportunities and new jobs for local people and communities, but also strengthen the reliability of the supply chain and contribute to greater energy security in general," he said.
However, such expansion of these jobs must be comprehensive. Although it is known that the energy transition must be a priority for all States, it cannot be done irresponsibly. In other words, the jobs generated in this area must be decent, with rights and well paid.
