The current NBA season is almost two months since the first game that began with a victory for the Boston Celtics against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 18.

The 34-year-old North American of the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, seems to be at his best in his 14th season, having already won two MVP awards, one in 2014-2015 and the other in 2015-2016.

Although it wasn't a great start to the season for the San Francisco team, defending champion Stephen did start off on the right foot, setting a record never seen in the history of the National Basketball Association.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Stephen Curry hit three 3-pointers in each of his first 10 games of the season, the longest streak to start a season in NBA history. The data indicates that Curry is having a better time now than when he was named the first and only unanimous MVP in league history in the 2015-2016 season.

In fact, the Ohio-born basketball player leads the statistics of those who have scored the most number of triples this season. His 3-point percentage is the highest of his entire career (44%), he averages more assists than ever in his career and is the third leading scorer in the league.

Throughout his career, Steph has been a four-time NBA champion, a two-time regular season MVP and one Finals MVP, as well as two World Cups with the US team. It must also be said that he is currently considered the best shooter in basketball history and is the all-time leader in the NBA in triples made with 3,117.

MVP and champion in 2014

In Game 5 of the Conference Semifinals against the Memphis Grizzlies, Curry became the first player in league history to record six 3-pointers and six steals in one game. Later, in Game 6, he made the record for three-pointers in a playoff game with eight to settle the tie. Then, in Game 3 of the conference finals against the Houston Rockets, he broke the record for three-pointers made in the playoffs.

The Warriors defeated the Rockets and reached the final against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where Curry started converting 22% of his field goals in Game 2. In Game 5 he scored 37 points and in Game 6 Golden State closed out the series to win his first championship in 40 years. In the finals, Curry averaged 26 points and 6.3 assists per game.

Unanimous MVP in 2015-2016

For the first time, after 61 years of competition in the 2015-2016 season, the Warriors became the best team in history and their leader in the MVP by consensus of all time, after getting all the first-round votes position of the 121 journalists who participated in the vote.

Individually, Curry averaged 30.1 points, 6.7 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 34.2 minutes. His shooting series was spectacular: 56.6% shooting from two, 45.4% from three-pointers (shooting 11.2 per game) and 90.8% from free throws.

Additionally, the 402 3-pointers made out of 886 attempts represented the NBA record for 3-pointers made in a single season.

Although it will barely be two months of activity in the 2022-2023 American Basketball League, and it is still not very clear who the candidates for MPV will be in the current season, there are players, such as Steph, who are always fixed in these rankings.

It should be remembered that Curry will turn 35 in March, and if he remains at the level with which he started, he would become the second-oldest player to achieve MVP (Karl Malone, 35 years old in 1999).

Curry is at a high level in his career and without a doubt this season will be key to finishing writing his legacy in the history of the Golden State Warriors, so his level is expected to continue to grow.
