Since December 13, the Art Museum of the Americas of the Organization of American States launches an online catalog with the most important works of its collection of Latin American art, which is one of the largest and most robust.
In the following link: http://oas.org/artsoftheamericas , one hundred of its main works can be observed as well as images and biographical texts of each one of the artists, thus divulging the artistic diversity of the continent and the wealth that Latinos possess in North America. The form of search in the catalog makes this something interactive because it can also filter the information recorded in the categories as Artist, Country, Media, and Movements.

For five years, this initiative emerged when the museum located in Washington DC, published a catalog in the form of a book. However, this information only reached some people, so that using the internet as a tool they want to enlarge their audience and that the texts reach many more viewers outside the US capital.

In addition, they expect the content to be educational to reach students who browse and study the material in their homes or with their teachers in schools. Adriana Ospina curator of the museum told Univision Noticias that this tool will allow several things to the users, not only that people enter and get involved in the work, but also that they can observe from the brush, the amount of paint applied by the artist, up to the screws in the sculptures.

Museum director Pablo Zúñiga said something very important and is that in a continent with countries with so many unequal interests, art is the tool and path that gives way to dialogue and get to know each other better. Latinos today represent 17% of the American population, so it is very important that pride feel in such important and special areas as painting. He added that the pieces that can be seen are ambassadors and ambassadors who tell and communicate stories.
