The coronavirus has caused various countries, instead of resuming activities as quickly as possible, to strengthen and lengthen their containment measures. The world of football is not exempt from this and as a result, unfortunately some leagues have been canceled. Here there are five.
1. La Ligue
On March 28, the French Prime Minister announced that all sports activities would be prohibited until September, resulting in the cancellation of La Ligue and all its divisions. In this case, Paris-Saint German was named champion with 12 points over Marseille, which took second place. France, at press time, has 179,927 confirmed cases of the virus.

2. Scottish professional football league
The SPFL canceled its season last Monday, when it was determined, according to the BBC, that completing the season was unlikely. The champion this time was Celtic Glasgow, which took the victory with a 13 point advantage over the Glasgow Rangers. Scotland currently has 13,929 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

3. Eredivisie
The Dutch league was indefinitely canceled in late April, but unlike France and Scotland, no champions were declared. At the end of the season, Ajax led the league with AZ Alkmaar in second place. On May 7, according to Sky sports, the health minister clarified that fans would not be allowed in the stadiums until there was a vaccine. The Netherlands has 44,141 cases of coronavirus.

4. Belgian Professional League
Belgium was one of the first countries to permanently cancel its professional soccer league, taking this action in the first days of April. Club Brugge was crowned champion with 70 points, with Gent following closely with 55. Belgium currently has 55,791 confirmed cases of the virus.

5. GFA
The Gibraltar Football Federation canceled their league in early May, declaring this season void, leaving them without a champion. The title was in competition between Europa FC and Saint Joseph, with the former over the latter by 2 points. At press time, Gibraltar had 147 confirmed cases of the virus.
