Leer en español: ¿Conoces algunos de los récords del Australian Open?
Next February 9 will start the Australian Open, or, at least, that's what we hope. With more than 500 tennis players isolated by a positive case of coronavirus in a hotel, the Open will have less participation than usual. At least the majority of top professionals have already assured that they will play the tournament and organizer Craig Tiley expressed "absolute confidence" that the event would take place.
Without further ado, let's look at some of the most important records that have been achieved in the history of the Australian Open.
Most Australian Open Won (Men)
Of course, the most important record is the number of Australian Open won. This one has it at the moment (and at least for the next few years) Novak Djokovic, with eight Australian Opens won (2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020). The player who follows him is Roger Federer with 6 and finally Andre Agassi with 4.

Most Australian Open Won (Women)
On the women's side, the story is a bit different. The highest number of victories is Serena Williams with 7 (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2017). They are followed by Steffi Graf and Margaret Court with 4 wins each.

Most Australian Open won (men – doubles category)
American brothers Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan lead this category, with six doubles victories each. Not surprisingly, they both play together and are considered the best doubles pair for over 10 years.

Most Australian Open won (women – doubles category)
Considered one of the best female players of all time, Martina Navratilova leads this category with 8 wins. She has been retired for years, but Navratilova is still active in the tennis world.

Not surprisingly, Serena Williams, considered the greatest tennis player in history, also dominates this category. Williams has won 87 games since entering the Slam in 1998.
