Since the confinement of COVID-19, many women have incorporated a sport into their daily routine to maintain a healthy body. A global survey of fitness trends for 2021 published in the American College of Sports Medicine's (ACSM) Health & Fitness Journal by Walter Thompson revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. The data collected redefined online training and ranked first for 2021, leading to a well-defined boom. The findings show close collaboration in the health and fitness fields to guide growth and some future developments.

The respondent's figures included 63% of women and only 37% of men with a fairly pronounced age range. Among the main trends, they emphasize circuit training and radically promote health instead of work, even in children.

Aerobics

This exercise focuses on toning muscle strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination through dances of different styles. In addition, it is the sport that women use the most; it can even be used by children and the elderly. Usually, instructors implement several phases in aerobics classes, including the warm-up phase, aerobic cycle (usually this period lasts 30 to 45 minutes), cooldown stage, and space for toning, and the last moment of stretching.

The second edition of the IHRSA Latin American Report: Evolution, news, and future of the club and gym sector revealed that they have 21 different products in their new line. The data collected shows that the gym industry in Latin America has become quite robust and generates 6 billion dollars. This figure comes from approximately 65,800 gyms.

The report's findings indicated that the life expectancy of Latin Americans is between 62 and 80 years. However, Colombia is in second place and this indicator is around 78 to 80 years old.

The leader of the Colombia region is Bodytech, a chain that has more than 20 years in the market and that owns 80 gyms to open 11 more. Last year alone, the company had a turnover of $125 million. Other outstanding brands in Colombia are Hard Body, with 5 gyms in Bogotá; Steaphead Fitness, with 11 functional training studios and AfeGym has 3 gyms.

Yoga

A study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine by Harvard Health Publishing – Medical School revealed that regular yoga practice improves some aspects of women's sexual function. The analysis involved 40 women aged 22 to 55 years. In addition, they were instructed in 22 postures with positive effects on the abdominal and pelvic muscles.

The experts, who are based at the universities of New Delhi and Mumbai found in the results a considerable improvement in desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, pain, and overall satisfaction. 75% of women expressed that they were more satisfied with their post-yoga training sex life.
