The NBA season is nearing its Christmas break. This has been a great year for basketball, which, despite the pandemic, has been able to reach millions of homes around the world. Not many new superstars have appeared, but some of the promising youngsters have taken hold as leaders of their teams. Let's remember the basketball superstars that stood out the most in 2021.
Giannis Antetokoumpo
Of course, we can't have this list without mentioning the "Greek Freak." Giannis won his first ring and his first Finals MVP this year, establishing himself as one of the best of his generation. The Greek was truly extraordinary on that occasion, averaging 35.2 points per game, 13.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks, leading his team, the Milwaukee Bucks, in these three categories. It should also be remembered that the Bucks overcame a 2-0 deficit to win this year's Finals, an impressive feat.

Nikola Jokic
The regular season MVP. This Denver Nuggets center is an unstoppable force on the offensive side. His statistics blew us away: he averaged 26.4 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists per game. Additionally, he played each and every one of those regular season games, something highly unusual for a center of his caliber. The fact that he has won MVP in a league that favors quick and agile guards is noteworthy, he is the first player to earn this recognition since SHquille O'Neal in 2000. The crazy thing is that it seems that this current season will be even more successful for the Serbian.
Un cachetazo, easy. No tiene sentido.
Nikola Jokic es la definición de cómo jugar al básquet de forma excelente.

Stephen Curry
Although the first half of the year was slow for Curry and the Warriors, the best pitcher in the world is living up to his title with a spectacular second half. Not only does he have his team in first place in the Western Conference, he also broke the record for most 3-pointers made of all time a few weeks ago, surpassing Ray Allen's 2,973. We could name several stats that would blow you away, but it's best to look at Curry's game to understand how dominant he really is. As we said in a previous article, his incredible talent for throwing puts defenders running all over the pitch and making it difficult for opponents to play.

Honorable mentions
We can't finish this article without mentioning Kevin Durant, the season's current leader in points. Another player to note is Chris Paul, who this year led his team to the finals for the first time. Lastly, Trae Young, Atlanta's young leader, is one of the few reasons his team is on the map.
