Who should you support in the Super Bowl?
Discover here whether to encourage the all-powerful Patriots or the modest Eagles
Next Sunday, February 4, the LII edition of the Super Bowl will be held at the US Bank Stadium in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
That day the reigning champion, the New England Patriots will face the Philadelphia Eagles, after having been proclaimed champions each in their respective conferences.
The Patriots of New England
This team reached its second consecutive Super Bowl, where they will seek their second successive title and third in the last four seasons. This team came to this instance after crushing the Tennessee Titans with a score of 35-14 and after winning in the conference final at the Jacksonville Jaguars with a score of 20-24.
The New England team is looking to break records and reach its sixth Vince Lombardi trophy, a figure the Pittsburgh Steelers still boast of. In addition, this team will play its tenth final, becoming the team with more appearances in the Super Bowl.
His star quarterback, Tom Brady, has made history and has become the most successful player in the history of the entire NFL. Brady's success is because he has won 5 champion rings. This year, the athlete hopes to continue increasing his legacy.
Philadelphia Eagles
On the other hand, the not so renowned team of the Philadelphia Eagles, will appear for the third time in a Super Bowl edition, being the first since 2005, where they also faced the Patriots and lost.
Philadelphia Eagles team still does not know what it feels like to lift a Vince Lombardi trophy. The whole of Philadelphia has reached only two finals and both have lost.
Going back to 1981, we found the first Super Bowl played by the Eagles. They lost it with a score of 10-27, against the Oakland Raiders. Subsequently, in 2005, the triumph was again lost against the Patriots with a score of 21-24.
However, the team led by quarterback Nick Foles and directed by Head Coach, Doug Pederson, will seek to break with history and defeat some all-powerful Patriots.
Performance of the Eagles
They had a regular season, during it they only met the defeat three times. Furthermore, after his starting quarterback Carson Wentz, had to leave the team and miss the rest of the season with an injury, there was much uncertainty before the start of the postseason.
However, the team showed that they could lift the longed-for Vince Lombardi trophy by making a good postseason. The team won 15-10 against the Atlanta Hawks and the Minnesota Vikings by 38-7.
Moreover, the team has an excellent game and offensively has a very balanced system. Likewise, players combine passing and running, creating headaches for rivals.
It should be noted that the offensive line of the Eagles is not the best in the league. However, if you mix enough time with Nick's patience, the results can be amazing.
As for the defense, they play in a very simple way, with four fronts, three linebackers, and four deep ones, varying throughout the game.
Will the Eagles defeat the giant? On Sunday we will know.
