By 2023 there will be a wide range of great movie releases. Many franchises will have their rebirth with sequels or prequels, such as the case of "Wonka" on December 15. Filming of "Gladiator 2" is expected to begin in May in Morocco, with Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix as protagonists. The film, directed by Peter Craig, would follow the story of Lucius, Commodus's nephew.

Additionally, there are other titles that will have their return in style in the coming years and that will be in 2023 with a pre-production, filming, or launch phase. For example, "Hancock 2", which was left in limbo after the event at the Oscars with Will Smith and Chris Rock.

Pre-production has been rumored for the fourth “Austin Powers” film, the third for “Kill Bill” or the fourth for “Bad Boys”, after the third that was released in 2020. It will also be released on December 20, 2023, a new film based on "The Color Purple" with which Steven Spielberg shone in 1985.

Next, we leave another five films that will be released during 2023, or that are in the pre-production process. Among them, films of different genres with more than a decade of difference with respect to their predecessor films stand out.

"The Exorcist"

Despite the fact that the horror classic already ended its three-film saga in 1990 with a prequel in 2004, a new film based on the first installment of "The Exorcist" will be released in October of this year. The feature film will be directed by David Gordon Green, who also directed the "Halloween" saga.

"Beetlejuice 2"

In the horror and comedy genre, "Beetlejuice" will always be one of the leading films of the late 80s. Since last year, it was announced that the sequel would be directed by Tim Burton and would star Winona Ryder ("Stranger Things" ) and Michael Keaton (“Batman”). The year in which it would be released is 2025, and it is still in pre-production.

"Karate Kid"

After the success of the series "Cobra Kai" on Netflix, Sony scheduled for 2024 the release of a new film in the saga that is described as "the return of the original Karate Kid franchise." This description would suggest that the film will be based on the first one made in 1984.

"Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny"

15 years after the fourth installment of the legendary saga, the new installment arrives on June 23, 2023. James Mangold (“Logan”) will direct this new adventure and will star Harrison Ford (“Blade Runner”), Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal”) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”).

Constantine 2

The film based on the comic "Hellblazer" will have a sequel after being released in 2005. The film will star Keanu Reeves ("John Wick") under the Warner Bros. production company, which confirmed its pre-production since last year. At the moment there is no launch year, but it is known that it is in the process of being carried out.
