According to Lula, "Hamas must release the Israeli children who were kidnapped" and "Israel must stop the bombing" of Gaza so that "Palestinian children and their mothers" can be evacuated across the border with Egypt.

"There needs to be a minimum of humanity in the insanity of war," said the progressive leader, who is recovering from hip surgery.

Lula added that Brazil, which currently holds the presidency of the UN Security Council, "will join the efforts to immediately and definitively end the conflict" and "will continue working to promote peace and human rights." in the world".
