Gallery: Climate Change Records Broken In 2021

A new report from the World Meteorological Organization details a number of record-breaking climate change-related events last year that are causing serious concern .

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) recently released its “State of the Global Climate 2021” report. This is a publication that provides a summary of the main climate indicators for 2021. The report includes a report on the state of the world’s climate, the concentration of greenhouse gases, the state of snow layers and the layer of ozone; and various indicators on the state of the oceans and natural phenomena.

In this sense, the report confirms that during 2021 several climate change records were broken. Next, we point them out:

In addition to pointing out the anomalies, damage, effects and natural phenomena that are occurring due to climate change and pollution, this publication also addresses the issues of humanitarian aspects, food security and population migration.

In this regard, the WMO points out that “The combined effects of conflicts, extreme weather events and economic crises, further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, undermined decades of progress towards improving food security globally ” However, this year, far from progress, the situation has worsened due to the war in Ukraine.
