This week the new novel by the most widely read woman in the world was published. This is Troubled Blood, a psychological thriller that is part of the series of detective novels that the author of Harry Potter publishes under her male pseudonym Robert Galbraith. The novel has been heavily criticized and defended for one of its subplots in which there are unsolved cases of murders of women allegedly perpetrated by a transvestite man. Many trans activists have interpreted this as a transphobic lesson that a man in a skirt should not be trusted. Others, on the other hand, have read it as more inclusion of trans characters in the author's novels.
