Businesses in the world are changing their relationship with plastic and fashion is no exception. Starbucks plans to eliminate plastic cigarettes from its stores, McDonald's is testing a similar program in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Ikea will progressively eliminate single-use plastic from its stores and restaurants, according to an article by Deutsche Welle.

The Adidas sports brand, one of the most recognized in the world, seeks to transform the recovered material IGNORE INTO high performance sports garments. Its CEO, Kasper Rorsted, told the Financial Times that by 2024 Adidas will only use recycled plastic.

Adidas has already launched the first running shoe made of recycled water bottles in conjunction with Parley. The UltraBOOST Uncaged Parley is made of 95% plastic ocean collected near the Malvidas and the rest is made of other recycled materials making use of 11 bottles to make a pair of shoes.
