Leer en español: ¿Qué historias podrían contar las series de Harry Potter?
Harry Potter is more alive than ever. The new Fantastic Animals and where to find them 3 film is expected to arrive in 2022 , after it was known that Johnny Deep would not appear again in the franchise to represent the evil Grindelwald. However, that is not all the news.
Recently, we learned that the entire franchise created by JK Rowling will no longer be part of the Netflix and Amazon catalog, but will become exclusive to HBO . This was, at the same time, huge news: they are thinking of producing stories based on Harry Potter for television , in such a way that it becomes the “flagship” of their streaming platform.
Although Warner Bros are reluctant to disclose information, The Hollywood Reporter indicates that they are in a pre-production stage to have different ideas and writers to expand the universe of the saga for HBO Max , which aroused the enthusiasm of fans who want that explore different Harry Potter stories. Here are some possiblities of new content:
The main Harry Potter saga is based around Hogwarts. However, in the fourth film and the fourth book, when the Triwizard Tournament is organized , it was shown to us that there is life beyond this school . More specifically, the magic schools of Beauxbatons Academy or the Durmstrang Institute .
Of course, they are not the only ones, since there are other official schools that are throughout the entire planet. Therefore, a good idea would be to expand the magical world by introducing us to stories about alternative cultures to the ones we already know about Hogwarts . It could even occur in any timeline of the saga.
Perhaps one of the most requested by fans. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (for many, the best movie in the entire saga) we were introduced to a group that had been very important to Hogwarts: the Marauders . That is, students who had attended school between 1971 and 1978, within the times of the saga.
What is then revealed to us is that these people were four Gryffindors classmates, who had also been great friends. Basically, Remus Lupine, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black and James Potter (Harry's father), all wizards who could transform into animals and hence considered "animagi" . It would be a very interesting prequel to watch their adventures!
Quidditch is the main sport in the series. The rules are basic: it is played with flying brooms and the match ends when one of the two teams, through their seekers, obtain the Golden Snitch. That is, a small magic ball with wings that gives 150 points to the team that obtains it.
Throughout all the books and movies, we have seen how this sport generates a hobby within the magical world. However, knowing that in reality it is a sport that exists (although without magic, of course), it would be interesting to explore a little more about it, as happened in the fourth film, where it is revealed that there is a World Championship where several nations participate. .
The 4 houses of Hogwarts also represent absolute mysticism . In movies and books we have seen that, through the Sorting Hat, students are chosen according to their wishes and abilities. All of them will then contest the House Cup, which is an annual Hogwarts award with a point system.
However, behind each of those houses there is an interesting magical personality. We are talking about Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin , all important in one way or another for the saga. Therefore, this prequel could speak of the foundations of this British school, a thousand years before the events of the films.
In this case, it would be a matter of delving further into what has already been explained to us both in the books and in the movies. It is clear that Voldemort is the great enemy of the entire Harry Potter saga, with very clear motivations that arise from his previous time, when he was known as Tom Riddle.
Although, according to ABC, there is an unofficial movie made by fans that explains a little better the origins of the dark wizard , the truth is that everything is based on what is explained from the sixth film: Harry Potter and the Mistery Prince. It would be a great idea to better understand your foray into dark magic.
Hogwarts after the Second Wizarding War
We have talked about spin-offs and prequels ... but why not think of a sequel? Some of this had already been raised before with the release of Harry Potter and the cursed legacy, the "eighth book" which, in reality, is an adaptation of a theater play that seeks to show how the saga continues after the end of the books and the movies.
Therefore, it would be interesting if they could make an adaptation of the book into a TV series format ... or even tell a completely new story. Ultimately, all fans of the boy who lived want to know what happens after the events created by JK Rowling, so it could be the perfect opportunity to explain them.
