Cuba and Brazil expressed the intention to expand collaboration in foreign trade through the exchange of information and other topics , the official newspaper Granma reported this Friday.
The memorandum of understanding signed the day before between the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Directorate of Communication and Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (ProCuba) includes strategies to expand the participation of small and medium-sized companies in exports.
The president of ApexBrasil, Jorge Viana, described the bilateral association as "vital" "so that the business environment between the two countries further expands political and economic relations," Granma said.
Renewal of relations: the meeting between Cuba and Brazil
Viana is part of a delegation of 14 Brazilian businessmen and technicians who visits Havana this week with the intention of reconnecting with Cuba under the new mandate of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The Brazilians also exchanged at the beginning of the week with authorities from the Ministry of Agriculture to determine "Cuba's most important priorities," according to the director of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, Ruy Pereira.
Pereira pointed out that the delegation is focused on cooperation for development in scientific, technical and economic issues and specified that this includes health care for those affected by natural phenomena.
In addition to the ABC technicians, the mission is made up of representatives of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company and the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform.
The mission precedes the trip of the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to Havana to participate in the Summit of the Group of 77 plus China on September 15 and 16.
Lula's advisor, Celso Amorim, expressed Brazil's intention to "get closer" to Cuba during his visit to Havana last August, and announced this visit by Brazilian businessmen to work on "several issues, including agriculture."
