Maná

The Mexican band, recognized for its Latin American pop and rock productions, is conformed by Sergio Vallín, Juan Calleros, Fher Olvera, and Alex González. The band has been awarded in different occasions for its musical career; for example, it has received eight Latin Grammy Awards, fifteen Premios Lo Nuestro, and nineteen Billboard Latin Music Awards. However, the Mexican group has not been exclusively dedicated to music. In 1996, Maná created the Selva Negra Foundation with the objective of financing projects that take care of the environment. According to the official website of the foundation, the institution develops initiatives for the preservation of species, education and environmental conservation. According to this page, "the Selva Negra Ecological Foundation is the social arm of Maná". The band is also known as the Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 2003.

Charly Alberti

The drummer of the band Soda Stereo founded R21 for a Sustainable Latin America with the purpose of spreading the global environmental crisis. According to the website of the foundation , the mission of this organization is "to contribute to the sustainable development of Latin America based on education about global environmental change and the generation of mitigation actions". In fact, his work led him to become Ambassador of Goodwill for the Environment in Argentina in 2017. Upon receiving the distinction, according to the United Nations Development Portal, Alberti said that "Global Environmental Change is a reality which is rapidly changing our environment and forms of development".

Guillermo Arturo Prieto La Rotta, better known as Pirry, is a Colombian television journalist and presenter. Pirry is remembered for his programs "The World According to Pirry" and "Specials Pirry". At present, the journalist has a Youtube channel in which he has more than 250 thousand followers. According to the website of the Network for Environmental Justice in Colombia , Pirry "was recognized by the 2015 National Environmental Survey as a leader in environmental issues." Additionally, the Colombian has shown his concern for the environment in social networks. For example, after the oil spill in Barrancabermeja, which occurred on March 2 of this year, the journalist posted a video in his Youtube channel in which he expressed his concern about the environmental emergency and the lack of effectiveness of the contingency measures . In the same video , Pirry expressed his disagreement with the handling of the situation by the Ministry of Environment of Colombia.
