Like every month, the main streaming platforms announce some of the productions that will come for the following month. In this case, it's April, which will be special because there are several interesting series, films, and documentaries to discover. Let's know the main premieres of streaming platforms in April 2021.
Disney Plus
Little by little, Disney Plus begins to gain a foothold among the main streaming platforms of today. Thanks to an extensive catalog, with original productions of the mouse company itself, it generated interest from all its subscribers. However, they also plan to add a lot of content for next month.
Well, in that sense, one of the most important Disney franchises is Star Wars. While they announced a host of original series for the near future, they are also going to include fan-favorite content. One of them is Clone Wars, the animated series by Genndy Tarkakovsky, creator of Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory.
From CinemasComics they mentioned that it is the "best Star Wars series", but that it should not be confused with The Clone Wars. It came out between 2003 and 2005 to fill the gap between the previous Episode II and Episode III that, in due course, would end the film saga.
At that time, it premiered on Cartoon Network, in the form of “mini-episodes” that featured iconic characters and it was even better developed than in the prequels themselves, as the silent narrative rhythm and visual dynamics made it an unmissable production.
Let's leave animation for a second and focus on live-action productions. In this case, we will have the Big Shot series, which will arrive on April 16 and will have about 10 episodes of one hour, approximately, which will star the American actor John Stamos.
Stamos will be a temperamental basketball coach, who decides to take a job at an elite high school packed with girls. This production will be written and produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey, which is why it is expected to be one of the great successes of the mouse platform.
That same day an interesting documentary will also arrive to this application, which will be in charge of National Geographic. Earth Moods will have about 5 episodes, will seek to take viewers on a journey to review the most colorful and relaxing places on the planet, all with diverse natural characteristics.
That is, we will be able to discover the dangers and nature of the jungle, the most vibrant cities in the world, the silence of the deserts and the frozen glaciers. With music by Neil Davidge, the idea is that we choose our favorite place on Earth.
Amazon
Of course, Amazon will strive to have productions that are also interesting for many users to maintain their subscriptions. In that sense, one of the most interesting will arrive on April 16, with Tengo miedo torero. The film, directed by Rodrigo Sepúlveda, is based on the novel by Pedro Lemebel.
The story will place us in Santiago de Chile, during the second half of 1986, at which time the country was going through the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. The film seeks to represent a gay love story between a leftist guerrilla and a low-income person, all at the same time in which they rise up against the prevailing regime.
However, it will not be the only interesting production. On April, we will have Them, which, according to GQ Magazine, "scares only with the trailer." In other words, we are talking about a horror production that will try to make our hair stand on end, since it will be an anthology that will review the fear of racism in the United States.
The first season will show us the life of an African-American family from the 1950s, who decides to move from North Carolina to a white neighborhood in Los Angeles … although they will not be welcomed. Racism and even supernatural forces will try to attack this family… and scare us as viewers.

Apple TV Plus
As for Apple TV Plus, we see that, so far, only The Mosquito Coast has been announced to be released on the 30th. It will be a series based on the novel The Mosquito Coast, which had already been adapted to the cinema in 1986, with a Peter Weir film starring Harrison Ford.
In the trailer, we can see that there will be about 7 episodes that will be released weekly. There, actor Justin Theroux will play Allie Fox, an idealistic inventor who has to flee the United States government to go to Mexico with his entire family.
HBO Max
HBO Max will also have an expected premiere . This is Mortal Kombat Movie, which will appear in the catalog on April 16. From Espinof they indicate that the trailer promises spectacular and excellently filmed combats, which will please both fans of video games and cinema.
Directed by Australian Simon McQuoid, the cast will be led by Lewis Tan, Ludi Lin, Joe Taslim, Tadanobu Asano, Jessica McNamee, Mehcad Brooks, Josh Lawson, Chin Han and Hiroyuki Sanada, who will bring to life the most famous warriors of this so popular video game franchise.
Netflix
Lastly, Netflix also has a really successful production for this month. We are talking about the second season of Luis Miguel's series, which will hit the platform on April 18 and will continue to show us the life of this talented Mexican musician, which immediately caught the subscribers of the platform.
Basically, the story will pick up where the first season ended, where the fate of the singer's mother was discussed. Therefore, it will seek to deepen the background of his lost progenitor, but also to continue developing the artist's musical career, with his main successes.
Stay tuned for part 2!
