20 years! Saying it is easy, but how many memories and anecdotes are still latent in our memory? The year 2001 left us endless interesting moments in all areas and the music industry was not fabsent in good music. Hundreds of artists consolidated their careers, as many released new albums, Michael Jackson celebrated his 30 years as a soloist with a series of concerts during that year, and, despite the light of ex-Beatle George Harrison being turned off, a current star was born as Billie Eilish. This series of events, and a few more, made the second year of the 21st century one of the most remembered by different generations.

Without a doubt, 2001 marked a time full of successes with great songs in both Spanish and English. That is why we wanted to search the trunk of memories for some of them to celebrate 20 years of good music. Turn up the volume and enjoy!

Sin miedo a nada – Alex Ubago

It is the second single from the debut album by the Spanish singer-songwriter. As a curious fact, this song was declared by Internet users of the Los40.com web portal as the best love song of the decade . A year later, Ubago released a duet version with Amaia Montero that also achieved great popularity.

Déjame entrar – Carlos Vives

At this point, the Colombian singer-songwriter already had his tenth album recorded, which won an Anglo Grammy and a Latin Grammy. Déjame entrar was the promo single for a hit album that many still remember as if it were yesterday.

Azul – Cristian Castr

One of the themes that has lasted the longest over time. The Mexican released his seventh album and once again had an overwhelming success. Azul peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart .

The duo formed by Leonel and Noel entered our lives for the first time in 2001. This promotional single was in charge of opening the way for them , because the following year they released their debut album and conquered every corner of Latin America, achieving a platinum record in Mexico and a platinum certificate in Argentina .

The remembered American band had one last big hit with this song from their third album. In fact, this aimed to make a contemporary critique of boy bands and pop music. In the end, it peaked at # 9 on the Billboard Hot 11 chart.

Suerte (Whenever, Wherever) – Shakira
