French government found guilty of climate inaction
Two years ago, the NGOs Greenpeace, Oxfam, Notre affaire à Tous and the Nicolas Hulot Foundation filed a lawsuit against the government of Emmanuel Macron for failure to take committed and effective actions to fight climate change. In 2018, this petition managed to collect 2.3 million signatures and on February 3 the verdict was released in which the French Government was found guilty . It should be noted that this ruling is symbolic and that the State has to pay 1 euro to each of the petitioning NGOs and that it complies with the measures they suggest to repair the damage caused so far. This process is known in the European country as "L'Affaire du siècle" (The process of the century in English).
