Netflix Reveals Most-Watched Series Ever

If you thought you watched a lot of Netflix, you aren't alone. The platform was kind enough to release some very impressive stats regarding the shows we all can't get enough of. Here are its five most-watched shows ever.

Bridgerton

The breakout period drama adapted from Julia Quinn's best-selling romance novels offers us a world of opulent gowns, 19th-century scandal, intrigue, and sexy scenes. It's projected to reach 63 million households. Since its December 25th premiere, viewers are obsessed with everything from the modern soundtrack to the show's breathtaking narrative. Bridgerton, the most-watched show in the history of Netflix, will return with a Season 2.

Tiger King

Joe Exotic is a politician, entrepreneur, country singer, TV show star, and tiger enthusiast. But everything comes crashing down when the FBI discovers his plot to murder arch-rival Carole Baskin, a big-cat rights activist. The seven-part true crime documentary will amaze you with its incredible story related to tigers and wildlife. According to News Week, the streamer claimed was viewed by 64 million households in its first four weeks.

Stranger Things

The series became an immediate hit when people watched the First Season of the story created by The Duffer Brothers. Stranger Things tells the story of a young boy named Will Byers, who disappears. His mother, a police chief, and his group of friends who are investigating his disappearance trying to figure out what happened and some strange otherwordly forces just might be involved in some way. Season 3 of Stranger Things reached an audience of 64 million households.

Money Heist

Money Heist, aka La Casa de Papel, is a Spanish Netflix original series originally set in Madrid's Royal Mint. This gem is one of the most-watched non-English language TV series of all time. Tokyo narrates the series, a bank robber searching for a police hideout, being recruited by The Professor. He invites her to participate in his plan, to rob the Royal Mint of Spain and walk away with €2.4 billion, accompanied by seven other robbers, namely, Berlin, Rio, Denver, Moscow, Oslo, Helsinki, and Nairobi. Part 4 was released in April, with a reported 65 million people watching at least two minutes of the high-octane drama.

The Witcher

The Witcher is a video game and book-based series that stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Geral of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. With this series, Netflix tried to get a Game of Thrones level audience, and in fact, they did it. The platform announced in January 2020 that 76 million households watched The Witcher in its first four weeks.
