Soccer is alive 365 days a year and, therefore, the seasons are increasingly demanding with its protagonists, who become heroes or villains. This 2021 has not been the exception and both the young promises and the most veteran have suffered modifications regarding their value in the market. Here we present the most revalued and undervalued soccer players of 2021.
The most revalued
The list of these soccer players was made by the specialized portal Transfermarkt. Before mentioning the five most revalued players of 2021, we cannot fail to mention those who close this top-10: Mason Mount (75 million) and Jack Grealish (80 million) increased their value by 66.7% and 60%, respectively; Dusan Vlahovic (50 million) appreciated 212.5%; while Marco Llorente (80 million) increased 77.8% and Emile Smith Rowe (38 million) 1307.4%.
Jamal Musiala
The 18-year-old Bayern Münich midfielder barely added a total of 1,458 minutes last season, but it was more than enough for the club to trust him for this new period where he has already scored 6 goals and distributed 5 assists to date. The young German increased his market value 450% to a total of 55 million euros.
Florian Wirtz
Since his debut for Bayern Leverkusen last season, Florian Wirtz has never ceased to amaze with his vision of the game and talent on the ball. Now, with more prominence, the midfielder has already exceeded his own records and, to date, has 8 goals and 11 assists. The 18-year-old German has a market value of 70 million euros after an appreciation of 191.7%.
Jude Bellingham
This young Englishman came to Borussia Dortmund not only to got some minutes, but also to have one of the best showcases in European Soccer. His game with and without the ball has surprised more than one and that -in part- has caused its market value to increase by 177.8% to stand at 75 million euros.

Pedri
There is no other soccer player with 19 years or less who has played so much and been as decisive in his National team and club as Pedri. 2021 served for the Spanish midfielder to establish himself as the new figure of FC Barcelona, since he lived a very busy year and without much rest. So much sacrifice was worth him to increase his value in 166.7% for a total of 80 million euros, the second best valued of the Catalan club.
Erling Haaland
What else can you say about Norwegian? It is more than obvious that one of the main objectives of the great European teams is once again leading the top of the most valued players, and that is due -of course- to their insatiable thirst for goalscorer. The Borussia Dortmund striker could be living his last season in Germany, and if so, he would close with a 50% increase in value to stand at 150 million euros.
The most devalued
In the opposite case, these figures did not live a good year at all and that is why they ended up as the most devalued in 2021. In the last five positions of the top-10, names such as Kevin De Bruyne (90 million) stand out, who fell by 25% ; Miralem Pjanic (18 million) and Clément Lenglet (18 million) with a drop of 64%; Roberto Firmino (38 million) losing 47.2%; while Eden Hazard (25 million) was devalued by 58.3%.
Saúl Ñíguez
Until not long ago he was emerging as one of the most talented Spanish midfielders of the moment, but over time his performance at Atlético de Madrid was falling more and more to the point of not being an option for Diego Simeone. Now, things have gone from bad to worse since his arrival at Chelsea, as he has only watched 731 minutes in 14 games. Its market value fell 50% to 35 million euros.
Neymar
For many it will come as no surprise that the Brazilian attacker continues to lower his market value. Despite being on the list of the most undervalued, Neymar is still a soccer icon and a reference for some young people. His injuries have diminished his prominence and therefore his price drop is estimated at 90 million euros, 29.7% less when he lost 38 million during the year.
Philippe Coutinho
Since he arrived at FC Barcelona, the Brazilian's career has declined notably. Regardless of who was the coach on duty, the midfielder has not been taken into account and it shows in his statistics: 5 goals and 2 assists in 1,400 minutes between last season and the current one. In terms of percentage, Coutinho is the most undervalued on the list with 66.7% for a total value of 20 million euros.
Lionel Messi
It is hard to believe that the winner of the Ballon d'Or 2021 is on this list, but his decline in the market not only responds to his poor performance in the last semester, but also to his age (34 years) and the more than obvious straight end of his career as a professional soccer. Its market value fell 40% to stand at 60 million euros.
Sadio Mané
Along with the Argentine star, the Senegalese attacker appears in the first place on this list, since his price also dropped 40 million euros, although with the only difference that his market value was 80 million. At 29, the Liverpool player had lost prominence last season where he played 48 games and only contributed 16 goals in all competitions, figures that he aims to improve by 2022.
