Qatar 2022 will undoubtedly be an atypical World Cup, due to several factors. One of them is the radius of action between the stadiums and the places of concentration, no more than 20 kilometers away in most cases. In this sense, the Conmebol teams will stay in Doha, the city that will host most of the matches, something never seen in any other World Cup in the modern era.
In the specific case of the South American national teams, all of them pointed to staying in Doha as a priority. Only one of them, Uruguay, had to change their initial work plan from the Al-Sahqab Equestrian Center to the Pullman Hotel due to the lack of space and natural conditions offered by the first mentioned accommodation when they visited it in June.

Although they are not Latin, the United States and Canada teams are part of Concacaf and will also stay in Doha. In the specific case of the North Americans, their checkpoint will be located at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski at The Pearl, while they will train at the Al Gharafa SC Stadium. Canada, in turn, will be at the Century Premier Hotel Lusail, 45 minutes from Doha, and will practice at the Umm Slal SC Training Facilities two blocks away.
The "Scratch"
Brazil will use the Grand Hamad stadium in Doha, inaugurated in 1990, with a capacity of 13,000 spectators and home to the traditional Al Arabí team, for preparation and training. The accommodation, in turn, was established at the Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, in the heart of the capital.
Delegates from “La Canarinha” visited 17 different options in Qatar before the final election. The best thing is that from the stadium to the hotel there are only four kilometers and, in turn, the venue is only 16 kilometers from the airport and 13 minutes from the International Press Center, so the average travel time from the concentration to the eight different boxes of the World Cup in Doha will be an average of 17 minutes.
The "Celeste"
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has observed its lair through its president, Claudio Tapia, since November 2021, deciding on the educational center of Qatar University, which is the main institution of higher education in the host nation.
The locker rooms have rehabilitation stretchers and hydromassage, while the university campus has more than 25 thousand square meters. Coincidentally, this place was selected by Jürgen Klopp during Liverpool's participation in the 2019 Club World Cup.
The university is located on the northern outskirts of Doha, 16 kilometers from the city center, but is connected to the city center via the red metro line. The institution has facilities for soccer, futsal, basketball, volleyball, water polo and individual activities. The AFA invested money to prepare the facilities with national traditions for soccer players, coaching staff and staff.
The "Albicelestes"
Uruguay, in turn, chose the Pullman Hotel, an accommodation that will have five exclusive floors between levels 18 and 22, and that is part of a construction of more than 40 floors. The space will be exclusively for the charrúas, who will have access through a different place than the rest of the guests.
In those five floors, Uruguay will have 70 rooms, in which all the members of the delegation will stay, with bedrooms, video rooms and rooms for health, as well as outdoor spaces. The issue is that there is not so much proximity to the stadiums, it is estimated that on average they will be 25 minutes away.
As far as training is concerned, the sky-blue delegation organized 10 days of practice away from the World Cup venue. This will take place between November 10 and 19 at a sports field near the hotel in Abu Dhabi where they will be staying, and at no cost to the Association.
The "Tri"
Several months ago, Mexico secured its concentration point for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The team led by Gerardo "El Tata" Martino will meet at the Simaisma A Murwab Resort in Doha, but will train at the Al Khor SC Stadium, of the city of Al Khor, a small town located to the north of the capital.
'El Tri' accessed these units through TBC's (Team Base Camp), a kind of FIFA benefit that gives countries a lodging place – which can be a 4 or 5-star hotel or villas, which they will have amenities such as recreation rooms, common areas and different training fields.
As far as the hotel is concerned, the Simaisma A Murwab Resort is five-star accommodation with a cost of more than 9 thousand dollars per night. The distance between their lodging area and their training camp is not that far, but since it is another city, they will require transportation, contrary to other teams.
Ecuador and Costa Rica
The Ecuadorian team, known by the local press as "Everyone's team", will be concentrated at the Hyatt Oryx Regency hotel west of Doha. The physical and tactical systems work will be carried out at the Mesaimmer SC site, in the same city, 12 minutes by car, a little further south of the futuristic Qatari capital. The national team led by Argentine Gustavo Alfaro will make its debut on the opening day of the Cup, so it is expected to arrive at its concentration point on November 14.
Finally, the Costa Rican National Team, which in June had the last place available for the World Cup, will be staying at the small but luxurious Hotel DusitD2 Salwa in Doha and, in turn, will train at the Al Ahlí SC Stadium, located at 12 kilometers.
As can be seen, this will be the World Cup in which the participating teams will have less mileage, since practically the entire event will be played in one city and in four others located 45 minutes apart on average.
