It's Friday again and you'll need to stay up-to-date on the entertainment news to have something to talk about on the weekend. Don't worry, we'll help you with that: we brought together and summarized the five most important news from the world of entertainment this week.
The Cannes International Film Festival kicks off
One of the most prestigious film festivals opened this Tuesday, October 27 after its postponement in May. Cannes is resisting the crisis and opens its doors to present 4 feature films this year with a very small audience and without crowds around its red carpet. In this version, the public will replace the press. Instead of receiving multiple journalists, who always formed a crowd, the festival opened its doors to the public, who could attend for free just by making a reservation online and complying with the biosafety protocol.
The Queen's Gambit, the miniseries everyone is talking about, premieres
This wonderful miniseries was finally available this week on the Netflix platform. It is about the story of a female chess player, her path to success, her problems when facing and competing with only men, her surprise at having to climb in a purely male competition and, of course, about her mental health and how this was related to her genius. This seven-part series is already one of the most viewed on the platform today and all in the same week as its premiere.

This Tuesday, November 3, it will finally be known if the current president Donald Trump will repeat the presidential term or if a new president awaits this country. Americans have been voting for a few days now by mail from home. Celebrities are no exception, because all this week many of them (above is the photo of actress and writer Lena Dunham) have been uploading photos to their social media accounts inviting everyone to vote. The Hollywood vote and the entertainment world, in general, tend to be Democratic with the exception of some conservative celebrities.
Narcos: Mexico is renewed for a third season
This week Netflix has announced that it will renew the hit series Narcos in its Mexican version for a third season. In addition to this announcement, it was also said that Wagner Moura, who played Pablo Escobar in the first two seasons of Narcos, will direct two episodes of this new season. Finally, Eric Newman, one of its co-creators, leaves the series in this last season to dedicate himself to other projects. Without a doubt, it will be necessary to see how the tone of this series changes.

From famed director Ramin Bahrani, this is the story of an Indian driver (Adarsh Gourav) who uses his position to get out of the bondage of his wealthy masters (Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopre Jonas) and to climb the social ladder himself. This film is based on the award-winning novel of the same name.
