For her, female power generates a series of changes in work settings because women spontaneously change relational dynamics, trust, and affection. There is room to make mistakes, to do new things, and ask for help.

When the Urano publishing house learned that Tatiana Camps was doing exciting research on women's strategic value to organizations, the publishing company suggested that Tatiana write a book. That is why she says that this publication entitled Leading from the Feminine, found her and not the other way around: "I thought of a 50-page little book but they asked me for 54,000 words that I, at that time, did not know how or where to find them."

She has watered trees and raised her children and with these actions, she seemed to fulfill two-thirds of that famous phrase according to which human beings transcend when we have a child, we plant a tree and write a book. Today Tatiana Camps have the complete scheme: "The book is a work with a life of its own because it is transformed in the hands of each of the readers. I have received many positive comments. An executive, for example, told me that after reading it, she has changed her perspectives."

The Unique Contributions of Women in Organizations

Chilean Tatiana Camps is a consultant in organizational transformation and female leadership. She approached her academic training from a multidimensional view of engineering at the University of Chile, studied business at Harvard, and, through Chilean cultural biologists, Humberto Maturana and Carmen Cordero, discovered a different approach to the world in cultural biology. In addition, she contributes to UN Women within the map of initiatives for gender equality.

ÁLAGO SpA is also part of Tatiana's professional practice: "It is called ÁLAGO because it is a Greek word that refers to transformation." It is a space that vindicates the well-being of human beings in the business world that does not transform if people do not transform. ÁLAGO SpA generates processes of organizational change from the change of those who make up the organizations."

In that professional racking, any day, in a meeting attended by only women, Tatiana Camps found a different professional universe that allowed her to understand the very high value that female contribution injects into organizations. To delve into this topic, she conducted more than 40 interviews with women leaders in various fields: "It was very easy, they were all very accessible, they wanted to help." From that approach to her fellow women, the book that bears her signature, Leading from the Feminine, was born.

Women Transform

Camps' concept of gender equity is one of addition, not subtraction. "The culture in which we live cultivates competition between men and women, it seems that it is an inherent matter of the human being. But there are other cultures, essentially ancestral, that have moved from collaboration and the pandemic has shown us that solidarity and collaboration are the way, they are the strategy."

Based on this vision of life, Tatiana Camps believes that it is pertinent to look at collaborative work in organizations, highlighting the transformative nature of women as a great contribution: "In the way, societies are constituted, the participation of the woman is definitely transformative."

Affection Is a Motor

Female power generates a series of changes in organizations because, from Tatiana's perspective, "The relational dynamics, trust, and affection change spontaneously, there is room to make mistakes, to do new things and ask for help. Men are not a threat but part of the work team. Women care about other people and, therefore, they are interested in achieving their goals but they also pay attention to the personal affairs of others. Women are very responsible and we fulfill our commitments."

From Camps' perspective, men and women have a different way of expressing themselves but, in the end, they converge in emotionality: "When a man hits a table with his fist it is as emotional as a woman who cries. The emotion is inherent to being human, it is a survival mechanism of living beings."

However, cultures condition emotional expressions, Tatiana explains, and women have adapted to not seeing their abilities, but when they discover and lead from those abilities that are innate to them, they are very competent and productive in the workplace.

Beyond the Work Scene

Relaxing for her means walking through a forest and getting in touch with silent nature. She laughs a lot, reads constantly because she is curious and loves to travel. She has a 20-year-old daughter who studies dance and an 18-year-old son whose interests are in sustainable urbanism. The youngest of the family is 12 years old, he is happy and always loves listening to the stories of his mother. Since Tatiana does not cook, it is the responsibility of her husband and her daughter to do that work at home.

The great quality of this woman who today has a deserved space in The Woman Post is humility: "I have no problem apologizing when I am wrong and my great defect is bad humor."

As a firm believer in feminine power, she closes her meeting with the online magazine with this phrase: "Women are ready for the world, a world that urgently needs us. Without women, there would be no sustainability."
