After the colonizing processes of various European countries, many pre-Columbian treasures are found today in European museums. Despite the constant requests from Latin American governments to request the repatriation of these priceless pieces, it is a complicated issue.

Although several Latin American treasures have been stolen and recovered, there are also several important world art treasures that are now in the possession of former colonial powers.
