Each year, the Met Gala is responsible for some of the boldest and outrageous red carpet fashion worn by the biggest celebrities in the industry who are lucky enough to get a prized invite.
To put it in simpler terms, the Met Gala is basically the Super Bowl of fashion where fans look forward to seeing A-listers level up in the most renowned designer gowns based on an annual theme. This year, attendees will honor all things American fashion. Despite the anticipation for the upcoming event, which is set to take place on Monday, September 13th, many agencies and PR companies are concerned about this year's event for multiple reasons.
First off, the COVID mask mandate is still in effect and will likely prohibit international celebrities like Kate Moss and Salma Hayek from entering the country. Worst of all, many are furious over the fact that "insiders" have tipped off the media with reports that TikTok stars and influencers will fill these A-listers' seats.
According to celebrity gossip authority Deux Moi on Instagram, an anonymous user sent a tip that alleged that both influencers Addison Rae and Emma Chamberlain would be in attendance at the 2021 Met Gala.
Due to strict COVID guidelines, the Gala's lead organizer and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour have been forced to cut the guest list from its usual 600 down to 450, according to The Post.
This year's focus is on supporting younger talent. As proof of it, the fashion event will be host by Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman, Naomi Osaka, and actor Timothée Chalamet. Let's take a look at the female stars who will co-host the 2021 Met Gala.
Billie Eilish
The 19-years-old singer is a one-of-a-kind artist. Through her music and beautiful voice, she has inspired many people around the world. Billie has been creating music with her brother Finneas since she was a little girl. The talented teenager has seven Grammy Awards and is considered one of the most influential artists of this generation. Billie constantly surprises people with her vocals and style. There's no doubt she'll do a great job at co-hosting the event.

Amanda Gorman
After her 2021 Presidential Inauguration poem performance, Amanda Gorman shot to a whole new level of very well deserved fame. At just 22 years old, Amanda became the youngest Inaugural poet in US history as she gave a powerful performance of her poem "The Hill We Climb." Her poem was great moving, and while her success seemed to be overnight, Amanda's poetry skills have been recognized for years. Her participation during the Met Gala will be memorable and probably full of epic quotes from her.
Naomi Osaka
Since Naomi Osaka accomplished her first Grand Slam in 2018, she has dealt with depression and social anxiety. A few months ago, the tennis star withdrew from the French Open because of mental health issues. She was also the athlete chosen to light the cauldron at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics. Mental health professionals have praised her for prioritizing her wellness over anything else.
As the date approaches, the expectations regarding the icons that will be impacting this event increases. Meanwhile, one thing is clear: women will be taking over the red carpet this year.
