These are the Latino Golfers Who Will Be in the PGA Tour playoffs

The end of the 2020-21 PGA Tour season is nearing. Only the playoffs remain to be played, which will consist of three tournaments from August 19 to September 5. These are the Northern Thrust, the BMW Championship, and the Tour Championship.

How the PGA Tour works any golfer in the top 125 in the FedEx Cup can play the Northern Thrust. However, only the top 70 play the BMW Championship and only the top 30 the Tour Championship.

Among these 125 outstanding athletes, the Latin American quota could not be absent. Here are some of the most prominent Latino golfers who will make part of these PGA Tour playoffs.

Abraham Ancer. Ranking position: 6

With 1,926 points from 24 events, Mexican Abraham Ancer is the most talented Latino on the PGA Tour. This year he won his first PGA Tour title, the World Golf Championship FedEx St. Jude Invitational. That made him the fourth Mexican in history to win this honor.

Joaquin Niemann. Ranking position: 18

The Chilean has accumulated 1,491 points in 24 events and, like Ancer, has had significant achievements this year. At just 22 years old, Niemann managed to finish second in two official Tour events, the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Sentry Tournament of Champions. It is worth remembering that he turned professional just 3 years ago and has already won his first official event, the 2020 A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier.

Carlos Ortiz. Ranking position: 37

Another important Mexican on the Tour. Carlos Ortiz accumulated 1,044 this season in 26 events. His first Tour win was also this year, at the Vivint Houston Open. Originally from Guadalajara, Ortiz will be able to participate in the Northern Thrust and the BMW Championship in these playoffs.

Emiliano Grillo. Ranking position: 47

This 28-year-old Argentine has accumulated 920 points in 28 events. He has a victory on the Tour when he won the Frys.com Open in 2016. This year Emiliano's best result was a second-place at the RBC Heritage.

Jhonattan Vegas. Ranking position: 49

The representative of Venezuela in the Tour is Jhonattan Vegas, who this year accumulated 866 in 24 events. At 36, Vegas is the longest-serving Latino on this list. He has won 3 PGA Tour titles including the 2011 Bob Hope Classic, the 2016 RBC Canadian Open, and the 2017 RBC Canadian Open.

Sebastián Muñoz. Ranking position: 62

Finally, we have the Colombian Sebastián Muñoz. Muñoz accumulated 740 points in 30 events. He has a Tour win, the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2020. This year he won an Olympic diploma, finishing seventh in Tokyo.
