The American Music Awards night was one of the most expected for new and already established artists. Female celebrities took home the awards from the most prestigious categories like Favorite Pop Album and New Artist of the Year.

The rapper and hilarious TV personality Cardi B hosted the awards with extravagant and eye-catching outfits.
Olivia Rodrigo performed her song "Traitor," one of the most successful tracks on her album "Sour," which has been topping the music charts worldwide, especially in the US and the UK.
The young singer proved all the talent that she has and captivated the audience with her beautiful voice. The Disney star sang live playing the guitar for later joining her female band of musicians as Olivia approached a garden full of flowers. The actress and singer took home the AMA for New Artist of the Year.
Another name that has become very familiar for winning a lot of music awards is Doja Cat. The singer won Collaboration of the Year for "Kiss Me More" ft. SZA, Favorite Female R&B Artist, and Favorite R&B Album for "Planet Her."
Doja has become an established name in the hip-hop scene. Another female rapper that stood out was Megan Thee Stallion, who took home three AMAs. Fans chose her as the Favorite Trending Song for "Body." The track became a trend on TikTok, with everyone dancing to the rhythm of Megan. She also took home Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album for "Good News."

The charismatic host of the AMAs, Cardi B, also was awarded for her song "Up" in the category of Favorite Hip-Hop Song. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion collaborated for the iconic song "WAP," which earned both of them several awards and nominations on other music ceremonies.
The mentor and close friend of Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, won to AMAs: Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Pop Album for "evermore." Taylor is adding one more AMA trophy to her collection. She could not attend the awards this year, but in a special message to fans, the singer sent all her love and thanks. "Evermore" was one of two surprise albums Taylor dropped in 2020. The other, a sister album, "Folklore."
In the country genre category, Carrie Underwood won Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Inspirational Artist. At 2018 AMAs, the artist gave an emotional performance of "Spinning Bottles." While she is still being praised for her incredible talent, Carrie is also the featured guest for the song "I Wanna Remember." The collaboration has been doing pretty well on music charts.
On the other hand, Gabby Barrett won Favorite Country Album for "Goldmine" and Favorite Country Song Gabby for "The Good Ones." This genre is one of the strongest in the industry, especially in the US.
In the Latin music category, Becky G won Favorite Female Latin Artist. She dedicated her award to all Latinos, including the other artists who competed in the same category. Finally, Kali Uchis took home the award for Favorite Latin Song for "telepatía," one of the most famous melodies on TikTok right now.
There's no doubt the awards were full of unforgettable moments that allowed female artists to find a place to share their talent with the world.
