How could it be otherwise, the first semester of 2023 is gone and with it, different Latino artists once again demonstrated all the potential and relevance they have in the music industry. But Latin music does not stop there, this second semester singers from this part of the world have already announced that they will release new albums in the remainder of the year . For the same reason, this time we present you four albums that stood out in the first half of 2023 and four that will be released soon and that you should not lose track of.
The albums released
The Colombians Karol G and Juanes, the Argentine Tini and the Puerto Rican Myke Towers stood out in this first part of the year.
"Mañana será bonito", by Karol G
When it seemed that it would be impossible to overcome the impact that KG0516 had in 2021, Karol G released "Tomorrow will be beautiful" this year. This album broke several records: it became the best debut by a Latin artist on Spotify , her collaboration with Shakira on "TQG" was at the top of Spotify Global and to date this collaboration has practically 630 million streams. The "bichota" surprises in this album, not only for the collaboration with Shakira, but for others, with artists of the level of Romeo Santos, Quevedo or the Mexican Carla Morrison. "Provenza", "TQG", "Gatúbela" and "Mañana ser bonito" are the most outstanding singles from the album.
"La vida es una" by Myke Towers
"La vida es una" is the fourth album by Puerto Rican Myke Towers, which received very good reviews. In fact, this album debuted in the top 10 of Billboard's Top Latin Albums, with more than 36 million monthly listeners on Spotify. On this new album, Towers bets on 23 songs, and on collaborations with reggaeton leaders such as the Colombian J Balvin, Ozuna, Arcángel and Daddy Yankee. Such has been its success that, according to Billboard, the collaboration with Daddy Yankee managed to reach the top 30 on the Hot Latin Songs list in February.
"Cupido", by Tini
One of the most important Argentine artists in recent years released an album in the first half of the year, and it did not disappoint. In "Cupido", Tini bets on her versatility, with genres ranging from Latin pop to reggaeton and even reaching cumbia. This album debuted in the top 10 of the Latin Pop Albums list, the trans-Andean collaborates with the Colombian Manuel Turizo, Anitta, Becky G and her compatriot María Becerra. The song Cupid has almost 120 million views on YouTube, which confirms the extent of its success.
"Vida cotidiana", by Juanes
In his last two albums, Juanes experimented with different styles, however, in "Daily life", the coffee grower returns to his beginnings, in which rock predominated in his music . Considered his most personal production, there are 11 songs that make up this album. "Gris" and "Cecilia" are the two most special singles on the album. These singles were dedicated to his wife, in the latter he had the collaboration of the Dominican Juan Luis Guerra. Juanes returned to his roots, and this will probably be recognized by the Latin Grammys.

The American of Dominican origin, Prince Royce, the Brazilian Anitta, the Chilean nationalized Mexican, Mon Laferte and the Puerto Rican Luis Fonsi will give what to talk about in the coming months.
Prince Royce record
"Alter ego" was the last album that Prince Royce released, in 2020. More than two years after his last production, one of the most relevant Latin artists in his genre has returned. The premiere of "Me EnRD" during the first semester was a preview of what is to come with his new album, which should be released in the coming months. With almost seven million views on Youtube , "Me EnRD" was the first track on a new product, and allows us to see that Royce's style, one in which romantic bachata predominates, and whose music video was filmed in Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic.
Recently Anitta, one of the most outstanding Brazilian artists of the moment (she has more than 23 million monthly listeners on Spotify) premiered "Funk Rave", which she presented at the UEFA Champions League final. There, Anitta connects with her roots, and Brazilian funk makes itself felt throughout the entire song. It should be noted that "Funk Rave" is the first single from what will be her next album, and in it, according to the Brazilian, she will bet on carioca funk. The production will succeed "Versions of me", released during 2022.
Mon Laferte album
Since 2021 Mon Laferte has not released new material, but during this second semester the wait for his fans will come to an end. The Chilean nationalized Mexican artist made it clear on her social networks that she has practically finished what will be her eighth album. It should be remembered that in 2021 Laferte released two albums in one year, "Seis", with which he won his fourth Latin Grammy (and received four nominations) and "1940 Carmen", whose single "Algo es mejor" received the nomination for Song of the Year in the last Latin Grammys.
Luis Fonsi album
"Buenos Aires" was the first preview of what will be Luis Fonsi's new material. With a rose that takes center stage in the video clip in which Fonsi sings about unrequited love , the Puerto Rican shows glimpses of what will be a record that will be released in the coming months. The artist of "Despacito" winks at Argentina, and perhaps that could be more than a mere coincidence.
